In a long-term joint work between experimental Physics (J. Köhler group) and our group, we are demonstrating how well-defined chemistry of photoswitchable molecules can be coupled with fluorophores to achieve modulation of light emission (switching and amplification) in spatially separated and well ordered arrays. This joint work has gained more momentum within our IRTG (OPTEXC), where Mulvaney group brought in the expertise of quantum dots and structured array of emitters. The fruitful collaboration can be seen in the papers; Nano Letters 2026, 26 (9), 3156-3163; Adv. Opt. Mater. 2025, 13, no. 33 (2025): e02406; Adv. Funct. Mater. 2025, 2507180 etc.
